Just curious. I got a bit down on Hillary and Bill (let’’s face it, it’s a package deal) after Bill dismissed Obama’s win by comparing it to Jesse Jackson winning in 84. Thought it was a dismissive and race based comment. Not that I think he’s a racist just that it wasn’t the sharpest comment. Let’s face it, Bill’s still the best President we’ve had since Ike or maybe FDR.

i was back and fourth and today i voted absentee – it was stressful. i can honestly say i have not been this excited about an election since ‘92 when my mom took me with her and let me pull the lever for bill (i was still too young to vote). i have been a big fan of hillary for awhile but obama is quickly growing on me, what with ted kennedy comparing him to jfk and his increasingly passionate speeches. i 100% did not answer your question, all this just to say: it’s great to feel invested in a primary and to feel i could get behind the clintons (you’re right, a package deal) or obama.

mckay – my parents want to know if biden still has a shot. :)

I thought that comment Clinton made along with falling asleep during that MLK speech, though entirely unrelated I’m sure, can’t be helping Hillary’s already iffy credibility with black voters. Personally, I don’t trust Hillary as far as I can throw her- a limited distance since I hear her core is made up of dark matter.

I’ll definitely be voting for Obama. I think that a brown skinned leader with ‘Hussein’ as his middle name will help our international relations astronomically more than another Clinton in office- going Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton would just reinforce global notions of a lazy country that struggles to maintain the fair and balanced democracy it promotes globally at gunpoint.

Glad to see you posting in the forums!

If you read both of their positions on all the issues, Obama and Hillary are identical, so all they are doing now is trying to emphasize the differences in their personalities. If Obama had been in office for the last ten years I’m sure his voting record would have a few flaws in it…and as for Bill C’s remarks, ugh. I feel bad for Hillary because studies show that when women are perceived as warm or likeable, they are also perceived as incompetent…and when they are perceived as competent, they are also perceived to be cold and calculating. Frankly I want a woman president just because I’m a woman and that’s my personal agenda, but both of them would be an awesome change from Bush and the White House could certainly use some color that’s not all right wing and Condoleezy.

Or Huckabee, that would be something to watch. HA!

are we looking for great speeches or someone with the ability to run an out-of -control government? if obama and his supporters think it was nasty in south carolina, why not take a look at what the conservative right did to the clintons for years beginning in 92! good politicians and presidents have to be tough, smart, compassionate and willing to effectively compromise at the right time… if obama gets to the white house he’ll be eaten alive like jimmy carter was… i, too, love the idea of “a brown skinned leader with ‘Hussein’ as his middle name” but think that his time is 8 years from now, not today…

I think it depends who Obama would surround himself with should he make it to the white house to determine whether he would be eaten alive. With Edwards dropping out, it will be interesting to see who he endorses. AND will he he accept a VP offer if that comes to pass? I do believe to achieve a new direction for this country, a new face, and a new name would benefit us greatly. Obama in ‘08!

i went to the movies with my girlfriend the other day and paused looking at all of the different lines at the ticket window. as i hesitated, she confidently pulled me by my hand to what she concluded would be the shortest line. and i’m okay with that. i’m perfectly happy with a woman in charge…just not hillary.

she just has had her hands in too many dirty political deaings (fake addresses in chinatown sending her donations, busing around out of state voters to meddle with caucuses…single handedly getting wolf blitzer his illustrious career and therefore insuring overwhelming media bias and coverage…) I just plain and simple don’t trust her. I’d let her drag me by the hand to her ticket window line of choice, but only out of terror

I’ve been for Hillary this entire time, although it would be strange to have the Clinton/Bush families running the country for a potential 28 years. Obama is absolutely more refreshing in this country’s climate, but it just seems to me that Hillary has what it takes to make it in ‘08. I will be happy with either, though, because, ask Amy, I’m extremely adaptable to change in climate (must be the Cherokee in me).

i’ve been back and forth the entire campaign season (my favorite season b/c my fair skin looks good with the colors). i’ve been mostly leaning towards obama. i LIKE that he hasn’t been in politics as long as hillary…i hope that means he doesn’t have as many favors to pay back. though also, as a woman, i can not be trusted and i have a feeling i will change my mind at the last second, and vote for hillary b/c damnit, i support strong women.

I will gladly take either Hil or Obam (as I like to call them)! I am a white woman on the outside but feel like a black man on the inside, so I can relate to both. What an amazing thought that I could have something in common with my President. Since I am not a peanut farmer, former actor, Yale grad rich kid, adulterer, or flaming idiot this is a new and wonderful feeling.

If John McCain, or God bless it all to hell – Mitt Romney, is the next President I am moving to Canada and that is that.

Bill is just playing[overplaying?]the race and gender political cards in a 24/7 news environment. Politics has always been rough in the south and northern cities with big money, race, religion, jobs, school busing, etc. in the mix. The Clintons didn’t plan on Hillary’s main opponent being Obama…the dems 2 key support groups are blacks and women. The problem for Obama is there are a lot more women dems than black dems and the Clintons are using everything they can to get women voters. The minions for both Obama and especially the Clintons are really getting nasty. Latinos might be the key and so far they are sticking with the Clintons..

Im down on Hillary becuase she was in position of leadership in the Senate and she did nothing to stop the Bush Adminstrations policies. Obama was a freshman Senator so he wasnt as crucial but he shouldve done more. I also don’t like the idea of Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton sequetial presidencys its not good for are country. Hillary advisors are also all for the War in Iraq where the majority of Obamas are not. The war is Iraq is the most important thing to me becuase Ive served two tours over there and hate everthing about us being there. Obama wasnt my orginal choice but I think hes better than Clinton. I also think the he would be more likely to beat McCain/Romney. Hillary Clinton would drive out the conservative base who hates her.(Which if they actually looked how shes voted the shouldnt be that concerned). Where as strangely some of my conservative friends dont dislike Obama. People shouldnt take these politicians at face value. Do some research! They will say anthing to get elected.

I was only supporting Fred Thompson because A he is an actor, B he is from Tennessee, and D Im rather stupid and foolish and dont follow cliques or cliche’s, dems and reps are like bloods and crips. All politicians are liars and humans they will alll cheat steal lie etc… I like to support the ones that are already on tv, SETH GREEN for Prez of the united states, I saw this potebtial in him back when he was the lil brother of Patrick Dempsey on “cant buy me love”. Thank you and I now step down from my soapbox.
