Greatest comic sidekick ever..Larry"Bud"Melman

I was just checking out the little video NBC and CBS have graciously allowed out for free on another video website. All the TV talk shows have certainly tried to find characters to fill his shoes but they’ve been pretty lame. His looks, voice and style,etc. just kill me…

Chris Elliot was WAY better!

My main point is , as I understand it, “Bud” Melman or Calvin Deforest[?] was a “non-pro” who somehow got a small part in some independent or student film project and Letterman took it from there. Chris Elliot is a real pro who was also great. BTW I recently heard his dad[Bob and Ray} interviewed on NPR…I think he’s 85 and sounded great. I don’t see any “sidekicks” on the late night talk shows who are close to these 2…
