i’m with you on most of that (‘cept the part about the jerks always being there, yes, there have always been those jerks, but now we’ve made it acceptable behavior for everyone, and thus created a lot of new jerks all the while validating the old jerk’s original behavior…vicious circle, ect.). i’m just too cynical and tired to do anything outside of my little life, anymore. i do what i can to make the world a brighter place everyday and end up knee deep in shit at night. so i just deal with my own internal struggle, mostly with pot and music, and hope that everyone else will leave me alone until they come around or i kick the bucket. it’s not really all that bleak, but that sounds deeper.

yeah, i try to keep the people who care about me thinking i’m a jaded idealist as well. i’m not sure who’s worse, them for projecting the idealism onto me, or me for reflecting it back to make them happier.
