Derrick Matthew Gary Derrick Matthew Gary

Hi! My name is DERRICK MATTHEW GARY. Yes, I have three first names. Weird right? I know, I know. (laughter) Anyway, I recently relocated to Los Angeles from Atlanta, GA. Back home, I was always making others laugh with my stand-up comedy or impersonations so I caught the acting bug early. I’ve been acting since I was six-years-old having appeared in various plays and even in playwright/director Tyler Perry’s sitcoms “Meet the Browns” and “House of Payne.” I’m heavily influenced by the comedic/dramatic styles of Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, Denzel Washington, Chris Rock, Jim Carrey, Will Smith & Adam Sandler ALL IN THAT ORDER! I recently can be seen in the independent comedy “4 Minutes” which has gained favorable reviews in several film festivals in 2009 including the American Black Film Festival. I am currently SAG eligible and I’ve appeared in television shows such as “Glee” and “CSI New York” as well as the feature film “Footloose”. I have trained with Nick Conti's Professional Actors Studio, the Company Acting Studio, and P.A.N (Premier Actors Network). With that being said, I am currently seeking television and commercial representation. I’m also the founder and chief executive officer of “I Should Be on TV”. A YouTube based sketch-comedy show which I developed and launched January 1st 2011. I encourage you to check it out right here at http// What I bring to the table extends far more than just from a talent perspective. I am eager to develop and improve my craft and I have many projects in store for the future. With so much talent and determination, I will soon show the world what I’m made of.
