I love you I love you

I woke up around 1:30 p.m. with a slight headache, I just went back to sleep . . . it's been a while since I've been drunk like that.

Emotionally (???) I'll get over it.

It's hard to put down A Clockwork Orange once you start it. Burgess was well versed in Russian (he was an utter genius) and created a fascinating language of the future. He had problems with the book and the movie. The book bothered him because he felt he did not make clear enough that rehabilitation is a dangerous process and can thwart creativity and love of beauty along with one's anti-social propensities. He was also a musician. One of his books, Napoleon Symphony I think is the title, is meant to be an experiment in applying musical concepts to words and follows the symphonic structure of Beethoven's Third. Final comment, I apologize for the windy message, but we are in the realm of my great passion: reading. I, too, greatly enjoy Gibbon, but I've only read an abridged edition. This weekend I'm going to start George Carlin's memoir if I have the time. Great exchanging comments with you!

Dear Mike,

It is sad to realize that there are men out there who are jerks. But as a hopeless romantic I should not loose hope.

With much drunken love,
Fritzie

I've read - literally - all of Anthony Burgess and have a couple of books signed by him. He is in some sense a cautionary tale. His abilities were so protean, he was such a polymath, that mostly he did not know how to rein in all of these talents and focus them. His oeuvre may be flawed, but what a splendid effort! His abilities were so protean, he was such a polymath, that mostly he did not know how to rein in all of these talents and focus them. His oeuvre may be flawed, but what a splendid effort! And he didn't begin writing until his early 40's when he was mistakenly diagnosed with a brain tumor. What a story.

Okay, I'm back. And here they are, in no particular order:
Don Rickles, Bill Cosby, Bill Maher, Stephen Wright, Dave Chappelle, Robin Williams, Dudley Moore, and last but certainly not least, my long-lost sister, Amy4birds, cause she is one funny, witty, intelligent lady!

I thought it was Curly who ordered the burnt toast and rotten eggs. "I have a tapeworm, and that's good enough for him." Be back later with my picks.

Poor Old Fuzzy

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear.
Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair.
Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fuzzy, was he?

That famous bear who had no hair
Just didn't care no hair was there.
Could not care less that he was bare;
A bare bear who just didn't care.

He would just lie in his bear's lair
On his bear rug next to a pair
Of scary monsters who shared his lair.

The talks they had were not hot air:
Philosophy, auto repair,
How to become a millionaire.
And many other things they'd share,
