FOD_Digg_Army's Blog: FOD just took a giant Dump on User-Generated Content
with no more hot right now section FOD has officially pooped on almost everyone's parade. if you haven't been chosen by them to be worthy of having your video on the front page, then you never will have the chance ever again. hot right now gave user-generated content the chance to be on the front page. a lot of great uploaded videos get overlooked and at least they had a small chance to get noticed. not anymore. boo FOD.

My advice, which is worth not even two pesos, is to post all of your vids on other sites as well. This will get the Google to hit on those vids and allow more people to find them by a general search, or so the guys at Fifth Column who do my vlog say. But they’ve have saddled me, and not in ein good way, with Amber Colt for my next season, so take it the way you want.

I think they are trying to get more celebs in to make vids, hence “TRC”. Writers always ticked when celebs make a killing on writing books. But they are doing us a favor by getting us into the store to look at other things. And it generates more money for newer talent, and it avoids tons of advertising dollars. I hope this is making sense.

Man. I’m hoping they change this. Or change it back, whichever gets us the “hot right now” section back. It doesn’t seem like it’s THAT much to ask.

Yeah, I agree with Noun. I’d at least give the FOD webmasters a chance… they’re always tinkering with things at FOD, which leads to down time for different sections of the site… and I’d be surprised if they fundamentally changed their focus… which has always been to mingle vid’s from regular folks with those of those crazy celebs… Let’s hope they come out wi... more >

I’m just going by what the FOD team has posted repeatedly on this site. Obviously, I don’t know for 100% certainty, because I can’t predict the future…anymore…since the carrot-peeler incident.

According to FOD, “Hot Right Now” is only temporarily down while they tinker with it, actually making it better for user-generated content. Isn’t this only the first day of new changes and updates? I’m not going to be so hasty to blast it.
