Jake Iannarino's Blog: Green Screen Experiment
You don't have to spend lots of money to make a good short film. We wanted to buy a green screen, but we thought they were a bit expensive. Pnutfilms decided to go out and buy 30 dollars worth of cloth, and we MADE one. We just stapled it to my wall, and BAM! McGyver Screen. When you are an outsider, you don't have money for equipment/actors/"permits" etc... you have to just make things work any way you can.
To see how our green screen worked out, you can check out a clip called "Chip Seinfeld's Message to Adam McKay." (which we shot just to try out the new "screen." It was completely improvised.)
We now use the greenscreen all the time.

Triumphant. When we are rich and famous, our green screen will be made out of virgin Leprechaun pussy.
