Our Blog: A Message from Mckay
For the past few weeks Chris Henchy , Tommy Blacha, Matt Besser , Paul Sheer , Owen Burke and myself have been lighting up the message board on IMDB for Another Stakeout, a completely forgettable so-so sequel starring Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez. There has been a lot of passion, love and sometimes anger in our exchanges. But it's all worth it for us AS 2 fans.
Come join us and help us turn this movie into a giant cult hit for absolutely no good reason. Register and vote 10/10 for the movie. Get into heated trivia arguments about the movie. Quote lines, question other Stakeout heads' commitment to the movie. Let's forward this e-mail and flood the site to the point where there are Another Stakeout festivals and conventions and midnight showings with people in costume saying lines along with the movie ala Rocky Horror Pic Show. And remember, we are Another Stakeout fans. Not Stakeout fans. The first one was pretty good but like the Godfather 2 (or is the Godfather 2 like Another Stakeout?) director John Badham got it right the second time around. AS 2 forever!!

PS. When you're done with all the important stuff above, check out the Night of Too Many Stars airing live from the Beacon Theater in New York on Sunday at 8pm EST.

HA I posted a review/message board post for AS
I went ahead and did a blog search for ‘Social commentary in film’ and copy/pasted the first review that came up with changed names.
I saddened that we even had to write a blog about this. It should just happen, it should just be.
I’m with Henchy. Do people seriously NOT KNOW about the magic of AS?
Wow, I remember the excitement when it premiered, we waited overnight in sleeping bags, the lines were uphill, both ways. It was worth it, to see those three, at it again. I wish it was that day.
How about an FOD streakathon in front of Rosie’s residence…in homage. A candle lighting streak event. Please?
Alright, which one of you situationists got to the Wikipedia entry? It claims that many critics call it “the greatest sequel ever.” wikiwikiwild
I fucking love IT.
i’m so glad people are finally acknowledging how great this film is here’s my contribution: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106292/board/thread/103015232
Am I the only one who dresses up in a Roise O costume at midnight every Friday?
It’s important to forward the original blog so the movement can grow. Yes, it’s sad some people don’t already know but let’s spend our time including rather than judging….
There was a 3 month period of time, roughly 2 to 3 years ago, where Another Stakeout was in heavy rotation on HBO/Cinemax. I watched it whenever it was on. I’m talking 3 or 4 times a day for a few months. I would not have done that with Stakeout.
I remember when “Another Stakeout” first came out, Roger Ebert described it as ”’Citizen Kane’ meets ‘Apocalypse Now’ meets ‘Xanadu’ meets a labradoodle meets…hey, who the hell finished my Twizzlers?”
I made an IMDB post saying Another Stakeout is the most important film of the 90’s, specifically for it’s political and religious undertones, as well as Dennis Farina’s performance.
i left a heart-felt message:)
I understand Jason Priestly and Lou Diamond-Phillips are taking AS2 to Broadway.
If they take it to Broadway, I hope it’s a musical!
I think Back to the Future Part II deserves similar treatment. Does anyone else remember Biff Co? Or how amazing alternate 1985 was? A TRUE modern classic.
Fuckin’ A though… I LOVE EMILIO!
As many of you may know, two major mustaches were absent during the filming of this sequel. This is a huge factor to the change in tone in both the movie itself and it’s marketing.
I’m enjoying this.
Well you can kid all you want, but the fact is that I happen to love this movie. Now I feel either vindicated or humiliated, not sure which yet.
This movie was the schindler’s list of all stakeout movies…and so on and so forth.
I’d like to marvel at the majesty of Another Stakeout on IMAX
