Erik Skinner's Blog: Erik's Tips for Life in Blog Form #3

This blog entry was inspired by a featured video here on funnyordie, Dalight Savings Time w/ MC Lyte.

First, a little known fact: It's actually called "Daylight Saving Time," and theoretically you would be right in correcting anyone who says it other wise. However, it has become widely accepted to add that little s in there, so to do so would just make you sound like a huge douche bag.

Now, for the tip. Well, not really a tip, but I figure it could be useful somehow to someone somewhere anyway (let's coin that phrase as an acronym, USTSS). If you didn't know already, you can set most of your more advanced clocks around the house to automatically change for daylights savings time. This includes: your computer, video game systems, cell phones. And maybe some other stuff that I don't use, but who knows. However this might be complicated as it requires you to initially set the correct date on the clock to begin with (and time obviously).

As for the rest of your clocks? My advice: don't f* with em. Just train yourself to add or subtract an hour for half the year. This only works if you initially set the clocks to the correct DST state. For example, if your clocks are are an hour ahead in the summer, you're screwed come winter (if you don't get why, it'll ruin the humor of it if I explain it anyway. Oh screw it, this entire post isn't very funny to start)

The alarm clock across from my bed is currently an hour ahead and has been for 6 months now, but starting Sunday, and onward well into the fall, it will be right on track. I suppose I could stop being lazy and change it, but hell, I've only got two days left, might as well ride that sucker out. So, the real question is:

Sloth - a sin or subtly honing mental math skills over long periods of time?
