I'm not a big fan of lettuce on sandwiches. Every time I go to Subway I order a PLAIN meatball marinara six-inch with no veggies on it, and every time without fail the second Sandwich Artiste in the assembly line will ask me "you want lettuce?" and automatically start piling on this green plague that complete destroys my meat centric Manwich. Even the tiniest tip of iceberg lettuce can change the whole way my Sub tastes and I hate it.

The only sandwich I do like with lettuce on it is the Big Mac...McDonald's has mastered the use of lettuce in their signature sandwich and I contend that this mastery hinges on the fact that the lettuce is shredded.

I refuse to eat a burger that uses a whole, intact, piece of lettuce. Shredded lettuce is essential to any burger eating experience because it allows for the sauces to disperse and mingle freely on top of the patty. The finer the shred the better I'm fed.
