Whats the point of FOD ?? probably different for everyone here.

For me, its way better than Youtube or MySpace, for getting feedback for comedy ideas.

Im not here to compete with Will or Adam or KITH or you, Im just here to see if people laugh at what I think is funny.

Its hard finding an audience these days, on stage or on the internet. Theres just so much else to do, and people have seen so much, its hard to make an impression. But we sally forth and do our best.

I appreciate all the people out there trying to entertain the masses, its not easy to do.

keep doing it, dont let the naysayers say nay to you. don't let the leosayers say leo to you.(10% of people will get this)

For those just starting out, I aquired subscribers by looking at the subscribers of the MOST FANS comedians that have similar comedy styles (like Human Giant or Ed Helms, for me) and then I perused their "fans" and left a comment on said fans pages. take note if that "fan" joined a year ago and hasn't logged on again since, no point commenting there.

I would reccomend being witty and clever, and incite (or invite) them to check out your page. I got about a 10% return on my "invites", So, for 500 comments I got 50 subscribers.

3,000 comments = 300 "fans".

If your comedy is more obscure or weirder. you may get 7% or 2%......so thats that.

If you are a viewer, use this blog to request comedy ideas you havent seen but would like to, and one of the other "bloggers" may take you up on it.

I believe this is what makes the internet a different comedy medium, we can talk to the audience and respond to it, much like improv...( I love improv BTW)
