Comedy is my Life! "AY QUE FUNNY" is my vision!

JESENIA is a NYC comedian/character actress/writer/producer/singer and PIT alumna. She is currently the Creative Director, Head Writer and Executive Producer of the Comedy High Productions (aka: Comedy Girls Productions). She’s a seasoned theater & film actress, having performed both comedic and dramatic roles. She is also a stand-up comedian, having performed all over NYC, including Carolines, the Laugh Factory and StandUp NY. Jesenia grew up loving sketch comedy, like: Saturday Night Live, In Living Color, The Tracey Ullmann Show and Mad TV. So in 2009, due to the lack of diversity in the NYC sketch comedy scene, she created the The Ay Que Funny Sketch Comedy Show (AQF) and served as Head Writer, Producer and Creative Director. AQF featured a diverse cast of talent and writers and it had a 3 yr run in NYC. Jesenia was inspired by the talent of Chris Farley, so like him, she decided to book a flight to Chicago and train Second City! She became so passionate about Improv, that in 2012, she began her own group called LocoMotives, an acapella musical Armando Improv troupe. In 2012, Jesenia decided to take a shot at the web series world and created, wrote and produced Becoming Ricardo – a web series based off one of her original characters - Ricardo Montalban, an off-beat, high-strung macho-man. The show is currently seeking more funding to continue filming episodes 6-10 of season one. Jesenia has been listed in LATINA Magazine's Top 10 comedians who fit the bill for Saturday Night Live and in FOX News Latino as a Latina who is ready for SNL and taking the internet by storm! Jesenia is the 2013 & 2014 Winner of the Malik Yoba Monologue Slam, sponsored by NBC Diversity and in 2013 received the NBC Diversity Scholarship to study at the People's Improv Theater. Jesenia has trained at the People's Improv Theater, Black NEXXUS, the UCB, with Roz Williams, and at The Second City Training Center in Chicago.
