After Allison Pill, star of HBO's The Newsroom, tweeted a topless picture of herself yesterday, she claimed it was an accident. Her next tweet was a confession: "Yep. That picture happened. Ugh. My tech issues have now reached new heights, apparently. How a deletion turned into a tweet... Apologies."

But a source close to the actress has revealed that the topless tweet was part of Newsroom creator Aaron Sorkin's concerted effort to prove he writes ditzy women exactly as they exist.

The target of much criticism of late, Sorkin has been  tagged by critics as "mysogynistic." In retaliation, the source reports, Sorkin enlisted Pill as a "scantily clad warrior" in his attempt to illustrate that even the most educated, driven, and accomplished women have legitimate difficulties discerning the difference between the buttons labeled "delete" and "tweet."
