The results are in! The winner of the Academy Award is…a white person! Before you’re all like, but we don’t know the winners, just the nominees, take a second to look at the nominees. Yep! All of the nominations for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, or Best Supporting Actress are white. No African American, Asian or Latin artists were nominated in those categories.
Twitter was rightly upset about this upset and made their voices heard with the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite. Be careful when reading these, as it’s dangerous to stare directly into something so bright.
To give us a little context on why the Oscars are so goddamned white, here is the breakdown of the Academy.

People were really hoping they’d find some diversity in the nominations.
