-  Summer Contest to Benefit Hudson Valley Humane Society-

(May 31st, 2011)  This summer, local comedy producers are searching for the area’s funniest people to take part in a comedy contest for cash prizes, comedy bookings, gift certificates to area businesses and the title of “Lower Hud’s Funniest Person.”
Area residents are invited to “get their funny on” and participate in the Lower Hudson Valley’s premier summer community comedy event over four Thursdays beginning July 14th-August 4th at Slattery’s (Restaurant) Landing in the picturesque Hudson Valley river town of Piermont, New York at 7:30pm.
A percentage of proceeds from the events will benefit the Hudson Valley Humane Society.  For more than a century, HVHS has promoted the cause of animal welfare through sheltering abandoned and unwanted animals and seeks adoptive homes for animals.
Those interested in registering for the competition should go to Lowerhudsfunniest.com to download a registration form.
Residents must register no later than July 5th.  Those interested in attending the events, should make their reservations quickly by calling Slattery’s at 845-398-1943.   Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
The competition is being produced and sponsored by comedy promoter and Piermont resident and Ladies of Laughter founder and producer, Peggy Boyce and Palisades Talent Agency, Admire Entertainment and the Comic Bible.  Admire represents such comedy luminaries as filmmaker, John Waters, comedians from NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Dat Phan, ANT and Tammy Pescatelli, among others.
