YouTube, I tube, we all tube together!

At Funny Or Die, we don’t just love making funny videos. We love sharing funny videos, too. And because YouTube is the best place around for sharing funny videos (er, uh, other than funnyordie.com), we asked the Funny Or Die writers to choose their favorite YouTube videos and post them here. Enjoy!

Bob Dylan Rehearses “We Are The World”

Rob Hatch-Miller: The actual recording session for “We Are The World” is funnier than any parody that’s ever been done of “We Are The World.”

CGI Animation of Sia’s “Chandelier”

Kady Ruth Ashcraft: I like this video because I can relate to the creator, just someone trying their best to figure out an animation program. It’s what I imagine the Sims doing when mama ain’t logged on to check on them.

I MIGHT Boycott Bath & Body Works RANT!

Mike Scollins: Normally my tolerance for YouTube content maxes out at < two minutes but, at 11:49, I still think this might be the finest video on on the web. It stars Angela, Winconsin’s Most Bonkers Woman, as she rants for almost 12 minutes about how she MIGHT boycott Bath & Body Works. The moment she’s so worked up that she has to pause to take a calming whiff of her Peach Bellini candle is brilliant.

Glow stick blows up in kid’s face

John Harris: My favorite YouTube video is definitely the glow stick one.
The camera gets left on and forgotten about. It’s so real. It’s quintessential dad. It features someone calling another person “ding-a-ling” in earnest, unprompted. It is the best. Even the title of the uploader is perfect: DaveMathewsBandFan4

Basic needs - extreme happiness

Nate Dern: I love so many YouTube videos. It was hard to decide if I should choose one that always makes me laugh, always makes me cringe, or always makes me well up with tears of joy. My favorite genre of video is “dog escapes on field of sporting event and players / officials unsuccessfully attempt to catch dog.” But if the best means the one YouTube video that I feel compelled to show other people when I find out they haven’t seen it yet, then I have to go with “Basic needs - extreme happiness.” It makes me laugh and fills me with joy. From the description: “This is day 86 on my full-return South Pole Expedition 2011/2012. I`m quite hungry and about to pick up my last cache by my second pulk which I left on the way in.” He’s forgotten what he has put in the cache, and when he discovers what he left, he is overjoyed with happiness.

TL;DR: watch this video to hear a man shout “Cheese doodles” with more joy than you’ve uttered anything in your entire life.

Jenny Nelson: I like this video because not only is it about fixing something that doesn’t need to be fixed but it also does a very bad job at fixing that thing that didn’t need fixing. Really makes you think!!!!

Jason Flowers: Anyone who knows me knows that my two favorite things in the world are groovy beats and basically anything that is popular. And while the beat in this video isn’t particularly “groovy” it certainly does have a lot of views. No joke, I bet I’ve watched this video upwards of 1.5 times.

Weed Jesus - Thug Life

Matt Klinman: I dunno I guess “Weed Jesus”? It’s a pretty good snapshot of America.

Leeroy Jenkins

Matt Mayer: All you young punks don’t know nothin’ about the YouTube. I’m a fan of the classics.
