Description

A long and boring sequence of loosely related events, with lots to look at, but no emotional resonance.

Take some of DC’s most beloved characters, throw thousands of dollars in it, hire a director that proved himself inept over and over again, and hope for the best. I guess that was the philosophy behind Batman v Superman XXX. The result?A movie that is at least 30 minutes too long, with an overloaded and confusing plotline, and characters that are thinner than thin.

Ryan Driller is stiff as ever as Superman, lacking the more complex, and human-like approach he had in his previous foray as the man of steel. Of course, he keeps it up in the actions scenes, but that is about it. On the other side of this battle, Giovanni Francesco surprises as Batman. Even though his performance is above average, the seriousness of the character, and of the movie as a whole, makes all his efforts as an actor worthless.

In general, what is missing is a bit of humor, particularly if you know this is supposed to be a parody of the usually much better Marvel movies.

“Stop! You two are acting like children. This ends now!” Alison Tyler as WW

The film has a few good moments though. One of the best is when Alison Tyler appears as Wonder Woman. She faces those rock hard monsters at the last third of the movie with a smile on her face. It is like she is showing the boys how to have a good time. Don’t take yourselves too seriously, is her lesson here. I am not the first one to say this: she clearly stills the show. I am looking forward to more of her alone as Wonder Woman.

Final assessment: Batman v Superman XXX is a long and boring sequence of loosely related events, with lots to look at, but no emotional resonance.Anyway, keep an eye for Wonder Woman!
