I'm back!
You guys have no idea how lucky you are. Come tomorrow, I'll be flying back home to NJ and will be able to unpack a whole bunch of high school journals full of misery, angst, and misinterpretations of the concept of metaphor.
For the time being, I just uncovered this piece entitled "Smile", which was written on December 30th, 1999. I guess I must have had a good Hanukkah that year because this one is surprisingly optimistic.
I open the door.
I smile.
I breathe the fresh air.
I smile.
I make a new friend.
I learn.
I look around my surroundings.
I see beauty.
I notice the people I love.
I smile.
