Why would Koch Industries even need to advertise? What are they trying to accomplish by airing television commercials that assert merely that they exist and are benevolent? And why, above all, would they air such commercials during the Daily Show, whose audience is composed of 100% people who hate the Koch brothers and their dirty money?
We don’t know, and neither does Jon Stewart, but he is not having it. He devoted a lengthy segment of the Daily Show to negating any gains the Koch brothers may make from advertising to his viewers. Not that a commercial that basically sends the message “We have enough money to buy a commercial that says nothing about us, except that we are not evil” really should need negating.
