Following a recent drop in network ratings and LaVar Ball’s multiple guest appearances on its show “First Take,” ESPN has announced the launch of a new talk show hosted by the brash, outspoken basketball father.
“LaVar” will be a mid-day, half-hour show in which Ball will exclusively talk about how great his three sons, Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo, are at basketball, tout his own athletic prowess, and most importantly, convince viewers why they should all purchase apparel from the family’s company, “Big Baller Brand.”
Ball will also bring in different guests each episode to debate these strictly Ball family-related topics.
"We’re very excited about the new show,” ESPN President John Skipper said in an interview. “LaVar Ball is the most electric personality in the sporting world today, so it only made sense to give him the platform he deserves. The show will be sponsored by Big Baller Brand, which is like Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas, but much better, just like his three sons. They have these great new $60 cotton-poly blend t-shirts for sale online, by the way. A little pricy, but definitely worth it. In fact, I’m wearing one right now!”
“Be sure to tune in to the first episode on Monday,” Skipper added. “Rumor has it LaVar will challenge Michael Phelps to a swimming race. How great is this guy?!”
While nothing besides the new show has been confirmed at this point, additional reports speculate Skipper is considering changing the name of ESPN to “BBBN.”
