BEVERLY HILLS - Today it was announced that Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife of 25 years, Maria Schriver, are seperating. The couple has 4 children, 2 dogs, 3 cats and a goldfish named 'Gym'. Schriver's publicist, Janice Smold, told reporters that Arnold and Maria decided to split up after having a turbulent 25 year relationship. When asked how they came to this decision, Smold said "Arnold walked into the family's home gym where Maria was doing squats, and said, 'Maria, you're terminated'. Maria was furious, so Arnold went to the gym's cooler, tossed a bottle of water to her and said, 'Chill out.' "
When asked if he really said this, Schwarzenegger replied, "Yes, yes I did. I thought about going in there and saying, 'You're fired!' , but that is Donald's line, not an Arnold line. I figured I had so many great one liners in all my years of making action films, that I should use something from the heart, something that is mine." When asked what they told their children, the former Governor said, " I told the children that their mother and I 'Had to split', as I halved a cantelope. And then with my juice covered hands, I slapped the wall, at which point another great line came to me and I said, 'But don't worry, I'll stick around.' "
The couple has not said if they will finalize the seperation with a divorce.
