I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of this.
Another day, another mass shooting in our country. This time, at least 25 people were senselessly murdered on Sunday while praying in a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.
It’s about time we actually take action to put a stop to this. And the solution is simple:
We need to think and pray more so these mass shootings won’t happen again.
When there’s a problem in society, you address it.
For example, before the 1980’s, there was a major problem with drunk driving in our country. So the government took action, spurred on by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and made enforcement stricter and sentences harsher. While certainly still a problem today, drunk driving and drunk driving fatalities have gone way down.
Pretty intuitive, right?
We have become too secular as a nation. Chances are, most of the people who said “thoughts and prayers” after the Las Vegas massacre never even prayed at all!
We need to do the same thing with the issue of gun violence, and actually address the problem head-on, by thinking and praying more until the madness stops!
The term “thoughts and prayers” is commonly thrown around after mass shootings. But just because you say something, doesn’t mean you actually do it. For example, I promised my mom I’d do my laundry every week, but I still only do it about every three weeks. You have to follow through or else your words are pointless.
We have become too secular as a nation. Chances are, most of the people who said “thoughts and prayers” after the Las Vegas massacre never even prayed at all! Look inward and honestly self-assess yourself. Did you think? Did you pray? If not, I’m sorry to say this but you bear some responsibility.
If you all had put more thought and prayer into mass gun violence, we wouldn’t be dealing with this once again. So I’m encouraging you and pleading with you to actually think and pray this time.
And once you do, God won’t let this happen again!
