Description

Ever wonder why nurses ask those obvious but humiliating questions about your personal life EVERY TIME you go to donate blood or plasma. Each country has their own standards. America has some of the strictest, while it's neighbor to the south has virtually NONE!

There are certain things we here at Quint’s Charter Service believe in. Charity is the essence of keeping a society pliable. We have always been hardy advocates of donating blood. With that being said, it is not for everyone but it is a noble endeavor (if you can stand blood and needles or those bottles of juice and cookies that lead to explosive diarrhea). We understand the line of questioning the nurses have to ask about personal background prior to being allowed to give, but suffice it to say some are still pretty dumb. Those like have you had sex with a man? or did you at one time know the late George Michael of Wham? BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!! Our favorite is the one where they ask you if you have AIDS. We can see the logic if you do have it. We guess in the event that you do your blood could be donated to a patient who already has AIDS or they can know that your donation must be rejected per healthy candidates and the staff attending can take extra precautions. Of course that may answer that question about George Michael as well. But, still who may want to openly proclaim such personal information? In light of this we thought we would compare the types of questions we get here in America compared to say Mexico, while donating blood. After all, health care and sanitation are unequal when comparing these countries. Take a trip to Mexico for spring break and you will see you DON’T want to have an accident. Same can be said for Panama City Beach, FL which is the only place in America you can obtain a venereal disease by proxy of just driving through town. In the first part of the text will be the U.S. and just below will be Mexico.

_America _

Have you spent time with a prostitute?

Mexico:

Have you spent time with prostitute(S)?

America:
Have you visited Europe over the past year?

Mexico:

Have you visited America only
to be deported again?

America:
Have you spent more than 72 hours in a jail or prison

Mexico
(JAIL QUESTION IS ASSUMED YES) Do you know or listen to Ricky Martin?

America:
Have you had a skin graft?

Mexico:
Have you cut off and grafter someone’s
skin onto yours?

America:
Have you had cancer?

Mexico:
Have you smuggled cocaine in your
liver?

America:

Do you have a tattoo?

Mexico:
Did you spend spring break in

Panama City, FL.?

America:
Have you had sex with a man?

Mexico:
Have you had sex with a goat, chicken or llama?

America:

Have had anything to drink within the past hour?

Mexico:

Have you had any urine to drink within the last hour?

America:

Would you like some juice and cookies?

Mexico:

Would you like to listen to Menudo?

*After such an analysis it is plain to see that what may be a “dumb” question in one country may not be in another. So with that in mind-DO NOT EVER DO SOMETHING TO NEED A BLOOD TRANSFUSION WHILE IN MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
