According to Wikipedia, “[t]he impetus towards affirmative action is to redress the disadvantages associated with overt historical discrimination.” If so, little people should benefit from affirmative action too. Discrimination against them is everywhere. Take legalized prostitution for instance. Does the Mustang Ranch in Nevada have little women prostitutes for little men clients? Not based on the website photos I researched - that’s discrimination. Or what about vacuum cleaners? A little person would have to use stilts to push one of them – that’s discrimination. And then there’s the worst kind of discrimination of all: ignorant comments. My friends and I were strolling along the beach in Miami. The sun was setting. Suddenly, a group of little people ran by. One of my friends - a football player sized guy - said, “You know what? I’d love to just pick one of them up and toss him into the ocean.” Instead of saying, “That’s discrimination – little people have a much greater chance of drowning if you throw them too far out,” I just shook my head. Share your stories of discrimination.
