A list of the best lattes in New York City!

New York City is full of great coffee spots, but which ones have the best lattes?

I was walked all over the Big Apple and made this list of outstanding joe joints for your morning wakey wakey.

Culture Espresso - 72 W 38th St, New York, NY 10018

This established coffee spot is bringing the steamed heat to Midtown with their new location on 38th. Wrap your paws around one of their lattes made from a carefully curated selection of beans from featured farmers and roasters.

Birch Coffee - 21 E 27th St, New York, NY 10016

With great service, creamy lattes, and baked treats that make it almost impossible to keep off the counter, Birch has got it all! Its a popular spot so get there before or after the morning rush. The Flatiron location opens at 7:00AM and I’m usually there with bells on (not by choice)!

Joe Coffee - 141 Waverly Place, New York, NY 10014

A staple of the West Village since 2003, Joe Coffee has expanded to locations all over the city, providing java-heads with delicious green coffee. Green coffee? What is this? Dr. Seuss? Its not! Joe Coffee prides itself on fair trade and traceable coffee, so you know its good for you and for the pack. So sit back with one of your favorite gossip mags and lap up a foamy latte, carefree.

I’m a dog, by the way.

Cafe Grumpy - 224 West 20th Street, New York, NY 10011

I haven’t seen much of Girls but my parents have been trying to get me to watch it (and watch TV in general!). Though I might not be starstruck from their appearances on the show, I am when it comes to their lattes! If you’re out in Brooklyn or finishing up some work in Midtown (like myself), head to Cafe Grumpy for some locally roasted goodness.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters - 18 West 29th Street, New York, NY 10001

Saw a bodega cat so unfortunately didn’t get to try it. Smelled good though!

Toby’s Estate Coffee - 125 N 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249

Whether you’re at one of their locations in the city or curbed outside a grocery store, a latte from Toby’s is a must. This small batch roaster even offers classes in latte art so you can learn their technique, that is, if you can resist sticking your nose in the mug!

Ninth Street Espresso - 700 E 9th St, New York, NY 10009

If you’re looking for a dark and rich espresso to give depth to your latte, Ninth Street Espresso is where you want to pull your leash. They know how to extract the nuances and flavors from their beans and will put some serious pep in your step. Maybe even too much! #baddogbuthappydog #ruffhousing

Blue Bottle Coffee - 54 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018

That last one got me crated for the evening so it’ll be awhile before I can review more lattes (woof). But I managed to sneak in a cup from Blue Bottle Coffee! This Oakland-based company has some of the freshest roasts in the game, a perfect companion for when you’re kenneled up in puppy prison.
