Reverend Billy Graham posted a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal to remind fundamentalists that America is a God's country and we need to vote for Mitt Romney because Mormonism is as close to Christianity as we'll get.
The legacy we leave behind for our children, grandchildren, and this great nation is crucial. As I approach my 94th birthday, I realize this election could be my last. I believe it is vitally important that we cast our ballots for candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel. I urge you to vote for those who protect the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman. Vote for biblical values this November 6, and pray with me that America will remain one nation under God.
The 94 year old teases readers with promises of his coming death and the importance of casting ballots through decisions based on biblical principles. God knows the Bible is full of economic stimulus ideas.
I should remind Billy that our Nation was created breaking free from the oppressive stranglehold of the Church of England. That things such as 'The Treaty of Tripoli' signed by President John Adams bluntly states, "The United States of America is in no sense founded on the Christian religion". Just to rub it in your faces, John Adams was telling this to a land of Muslims as a promise that we'd be lifelong friends.
I could scream in the faces of people who so strongly demand our country hand over the decisions to the dozens of different sects of Christianity - that (eventually) whatever Cult nutjob you get in office is going to replace your beliefs for their own beliefs ... and (say) start up poligamy again or reduce the age of consent to 12 years old again ... Better yet, take that elitist thinking you have and make it solely a Mormon one. One Nation Under Elohim doesn't have a nice ring to it does it?
Are you ready to give up Jesus to pray to Joseph Smith (?) all because Mitt Romney is Republican and the Republicans are God Little Helpers?
Mind you this is just scare tactics on my part and it's purposely written for fundamentalists to understand.
Fear & anger is all that one needs to motivate religious nuts ... God knows you won't use your logic when it's so easy to just stay mad. U Mad Bro?
I'm dead certain that the future of the Separation of Church & State, with the churches dismissing that ruling, that our government will also ignore it and tax the massive profits out of you & your Corporate Church. Just saying ... it's going to happen and you're all asking for it.
Wow. The gays again. You people really don't want gays to marry or do anything. All Priests must be gay, because God doesn't want them marrying either. Billy Graham and his fear of the gays walking around in broad daylight eating at McDonald's is called homophobia. Evidentally he thinks homosexuality is an airborne disease too. Fundamentalists define homosexuals as straight people sodomizing (or scissoring) each other just to spit on the baby Jesus? Because straight is how we were all born and being gay is the choice to sin?
Sure, I know what the Bible says ... says a bunch of stuff ... We should all be putting our children to death for back-talking us ... Shouldn't we? Of course murdering your children because GOD SAID SO is one of those silly loop holes the modern age can overlook ... Right? But two people loving each other remains an "abomination"? Oddly selective rules you've held on to there ... sounds like you might be holding on to the rules that benefit yourselves?
Ignoring the biblical hypocrisies of your lives, let's take a side step towards government regulations (that smaller government thing that republicans keep bringing up). Someone really has to tell you that begging for federal laws on marriage is not smaller government? ... Maybe instead of demanding our government create laws over issues as personal & private as Marriage & Pregnancy (with a capital M & P) - you might want to consider the absolute danger in demanding our government to create laws that tell you what freedoms belong to whom?
I know how hard it is to (say) mind one's own business. When you're a stay at home mom with the kids now grown up, you really don't have anything better to do anymore ... Right? I know how you look in your neighbor's yard and wish you could force them to make their yard the exact same as your's ... from the mailbox color to the wrapping paper on their Christmas gifts ... But could you for one moment think, "Maybe the world would be better place if I minded my own business"?
I'm saying ... Perhaps if you tried to set the example, instead of being dictators, people might respect your values? Maybe keeping your laws & beliefs in your own family would be a better option than (say) creating freedom-removing-laws that could eventually be used against everybody someday?
Fundamentally speaking ... that is.
