French words make dishes we Americans would never eat seem palatable. We see “Fatty Liver” on a menu and we say, “No way.” But when written as “Foie Gras,” suddenly it’s “interesting.” This French illusion could benefit other situations. For instance, instead of “you’re fired,” imagine how much kinder – almost complimentary - “vous êtes viré” sounds as you point to the door. Kids: Don’t tell mom and dad, “I got a bad grade.” Say, “j'ai eu une mauvaise note” and they’ll probably raise your allowance. What are other situations where French could be applied? (Excluding French kissing.) **S'il vous plaît “Like,” “Comment” “Share” – Merci!
