Curt Owen is a 23-year-old from Minneapolis. He plays in a band, wears pajamas in public and loves a good joke.
More than just telling a good joke, he loves taking a joke much further than it ever should go. For instance, one time, as a goof, he got the idea to buy a new hat.
Then he bought a new shirt to make sure you knew he bought a new hat.
Then he alerted social media about his new hat.
Then he thought, “maybe I can let people know about my new hat while I’m out on the road.”
But with this strategy, only one car at a time would learn about his new hat, so he made a website and took out a billboard, because of course he did.
On the website Curt’s New Hat, a friend says, “He had spent every dime he had on a stupid billboard. A billboard of an inside joke that not even all of his close friends thought was all that funny, to be honest.”
Fortunately, for Curt, everyone else did. Now he’s become a legend, all because he simply refused not to be.
