When most boys get talks from their dads about girls, the phrase “and then check under the little guy’s wing and if it feels uneven or bumpy it could be a sign of a disease"doesn’t come up.But not for 13 year old Danny Warbler who’s nature enthusiast dad mistakenly explained for 3 hours about the intricacies of birds and bees when Danny asked to "talk about the birds and the bees.”
When little Danny wanted advice on how to ask a cute girl to the homecoming dance, he went straight to his dad, Daniel Warbler, a tour guide at the local National Park and avid BBC Nature documentary fan who once shook hands with David Attenborough at a conference in Raleigh. Danny got more than he bargained for when his old man started rattling off facts about the diverse flying creatures.
“I just wanted to know how to ask a girl to the dance but after the 2nd hour of how to distinguish a West Connecticut Blue Jay call from a East Michigan Sparrow call,I just got up and left and he didn’t even notice, he just kept reading facts really nervously off of index cards. So I went and watched Modern Family until he was done,“ said Warbler this morning.
Talking about the birds and the bees can be a very awkward talk for a father and son, but it seems like the duo have got it made in the shade.
