Feeling down n’ dirty, feeling kinda mean……

My experience has been that writing a gratitude list helps me to keep things in perspective.

I’ve been from one to another extreme…..

On a regular basis I am asked “What was your high and low for the week?”

This time I had a good time, ain’t got time to wait…..

It has always been easy to come up with the lows, to focus on the negative and wallow in self-pity.

I wanna stick around till I can’t see straight.....

So I started keeping a daily gratitude list, initially to save face in group (because I also suffer from C.R.S - can’t remember shit).

Fill my eyes with that double vision. No disguise for that double vision.....

And, as time went on, I did it because it felt good.

Ooh, when it gets through to me, it’s always new to me.....

My whole attitude and outlook on life changed.

My double vision gets the best of me......

Now when I’m having a “day like today”, I take a cue from Pollyanna and play the “Glad Game”. Because as a person living in recovery today, I can't allow my double vision to get

.....the best of me.
