A lot of people these days are actually taking an effort in becoming healthier and in better shape. The problem with this is that there are SO many programs available! Which one do you choose? How do you know it's the best? What type of program should you get into?

These are all very valid questions, and I can offer some very valid and simple answers for you! A lot of people, when trying to get into shape, think that they need $5,000 pieces of equipment and a home gym (which if you don't have one already will cost you even more money), but this just isn't true. One of the programs I want to mention is called P90X.

The P90X workout program is specifically designed with you in mind. In fact, all the equipment you will need with the P90X program (depending on the specific program you buy) is a chair, some dumbbells, an exercise or yoga mat, push up stands and a resistance band - all of which can be bought for under $150.

That right there should already be enough to pique your interest! The P90X work out program is a series of DVDs (13) that include muscle pumping, sweat inducing, kick your butt exercises. Personally, I love it. I have tried many things over the years and either gave up from frustration or impatience, or it simply wasn't working for me.

P90X was different. Of course results will vary, but in about 2 weeks I started seeing results. And once you start seeing results, you don't WANT to quit! The P90X workout program has an array of levels as well as areas to work your body. I started out with one disc in particular to see if it really worked or not (P90X Abs) and then bought the other 12 because it worked so well!

The levels are nice because you can take time to go from an "easier" level and work your way up to a harder more advanced level. Even nicer, the P90X program doesn't just shove a bunch of DVDs in your face and let you go on your way. They also give you a nutrition plan, detailed fitness guide, a how to guide, and of course a calendar to check all of your hard work with.

The DVDs will contain the following target areas of your body: Chest and Back, Plyometrics, Shoulders & Arms, Yoga X, Legs and Back, Kenpo X, X Stretch, Core Synergistic, Chest, Shoulder, and Triceps, Back and Biceps, Cardio X and my favorite Ab Ripper X! If you have already started looking into exercise programs the term "Plyometrics" should sound pretty familiar to you since it is a very popular routine right now.

Plyometrics is a kind of physical exercise conditioning designed to produce fast, beefed-up movements, and improve the functions of the nervous system, generally for the purpose of improving performance in sports. In this case, it can help you jump start your body and really get your engines going.

Some of you may STILL be wondering why P90X gets better results than something like Slim In 6, Brazil Butt Lift or Turbo Jam. Well, P90X uses a sophisticated technique called muscle confusion. This technique allows your body to receive quicker results in a faster amount of time. In fact, with a lot of the other programs, a big problem is weight plateau - not gaining nor losing weight.

A stand still if you will. But, with something like muscle confusion you don't have plateaus, you are never bored because the exercises are so fun and they offer a variety of exercises available to someone such as yourself. If you are looking for really HONEST reviews - take a look on YouTube. There are men that have lost 75lbs with P90X that now are in shape, toned and best of all - healthy!

Women can do these as well, not just men! I just recently re-started my Ab Ripper X and I just love it. It's not easy. If it was easy, everyone would be skinny. You have to have the will to want to do this and to want to look good. If you have the will, you will make it and look damn good doing so! By the way, for something like the Ab Ripper X it's about 15 minutes long. You have absolutely NO excuse to NOT take 15 minutes every other day to change your life.
