  • In 1991 and 2001 we had downturns in employment and the economy, in both of those much smaller crisis' it took upwards of four to 6 years for employment rates to return. Again.. MINOR downturns. Obama has, through his stimulus of the economy gotten the unemployment rate to slowly shrink in his time in office, starting at the one year mark and going beyond it has been on a steady if slow rise. This is nothing different than other president's before him. Noone can wave a magic wand and create jobs.. don't like the stimulus? But I bet you like interstates. Well good old President Dwight D Eisenhower, after a horrible depression dumped billions into the interstate system creating jobs and investing in america. The same kind of bold spend money to make money strategy, and for the record, due to inflation the cost was very similar to Obamas trillions of donnals in spending. People didnt like it then, but it got America back on track.. as will Obama's system.
