Description

"The test of a great actor is can you play a poorly written character that just kinda walks in and awkwardly announces his entire backstory."

In script writing classes, they usually tell you to “Show don’t tell,” but in grade school they’re always telling you to “Show AND tell” so who are you supposed to believe, anyways?

Last night, Stephen Colbert and the usually very subtle actór Bryan Cranston performed a scene clearly written by someone in the latter school of thought, because, oh boy, there is a lot of telling and it’s not very subtle at all.
