I love to unexpectedly quip. It throws people. Sometimes they don't know if you are being serious or not.
The key to great quipping is timing use silences make them as awkward as possible. Wait till people are deep in conversation then throw out a random comment that has nothing to do with the conversation. You need to retreat quickly back into the conversation as if you were really into it. Your quiteness almost denies that you made the quip as if it was said but you don't own it. Keep doing it until someone reacts and when they do agree with everything they are saying and then walk away, you will always be remembered by this person as the random sayer of stuff.
Which in my case is great at least you made an impact
