After 75 years of having the most offensive mascot name in the NFL, a DC Councilman thinks the Washington Redskins should change their name to something even more degrading to Native Americans.

A Washington D.C. Councilman is preparing to introduce legislation calling on the Washington Redskins to change their name to something even more degrading towards American Indians. The council member praised Washington’s football team for having the most “derogatory and racist name” in the National Football League for over 75 years, and firmly believes they can take it even further. The councilman is of the opinion that by having a black quarterback, in Robert Griffin III, the Redskins’ have gained immunity from being called racist and that now is the perfect time to do something edgy. The councilman is urging the team to change its name to the Washington Red *****, noting that "Red *****" was a slur commonly shouted at American Indians by the most abhorrent Pilgrims. He would also be open to holding a fan contest, in which only the most morally bankrupt fans would be eligible to help create a new distasteful mascot name. When reached for comment, a cheerleader for Washington said, “Wouldn’t be the first time I had Red ***** on my chest!”
