By most metrics, 2017 has been a pretty rough year.

But one man adorably thinks a new calendar year will somehow make things any better.

Meet Geoff Salverson. He’s a 29-year-old sales assistant in Kansas City, Missouri.

Since the last few days of November, Geoff has been expressing to multiple people how he “can’t wait” for 2017 to end, as if the end of the year will also bring an end to the negativity happening in the country and his own life.

“Ugh, can this year just end already?” Geoff questioned the other day to co-workers after some particularly inflammatory tweets from President Trump. “Bring on 2018!”

“Seriously, thank god 2017 is almost done,” Geoff remarked to friends after both the most recent mass shooting and natural disaster. "I’ve had enough of these stories.”

So cute.

“It’s time to turn the page and start fresh!” Geoff confidently stated, just after his longtime girlfriend—who he had planned on proposing to soon—left him.

“New year, new me!”

Is this not the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen? Go get ‘em in 2018, Geoff! We can’t wait for the new year to make everything OK!
