L.A.'s 5.4 quake 'small sample' of one to come

There was an earthquake here today and for an hour or so I watched the “news” try and find a story to keep reporting, over and over, and over.  What they did was show b-roll of people standing outside.  At one point CNN showed a supermarket aisle where all the cereals, paper towels, and can goods fell to the ground.  I imagine the producer saying they needed more color and some PA running to the produce section to get apples.

The best though was when a field reporter on MSNBC just said (to the camera) “ I really don’t know what else to say….” And then the camera stayed on her for like 4 ½ more minutes as she just kept smiling without saying a word. So stupid. 

OK, time to go get drunk.
