Thanks to a great suggestion by christopher7murphey, today we'll be captioning in Dr. Seuss style. I can't wait to see what you all do with this photo.

MacSpruce writes:

What could be funnier and more poignant than advancing age and senile dementia? Today's best entries took up the theme and ran with it -- right off the end of the pier.

Honorable mention goes to turnems for his two entries. While they don't conform to the more conventional 5-7-5 structure, they exhibit wonderful poeticism. Moreover, turnems is a student of advanced haikuology, so he knows what he's doing. For the rest of us, however, I suggest we stick to basics for now.

Time long ago
Feelings below
I think I caught one Ethel!

Third place to for deaditequeen80 for this reminder that everyone needs Pampering now and again:

Seniors out to sea
Old diapers aren't very dry
Someone change us please

Second place goes to LeatherShorts for a wicked observation on soviet-style utilitarianism:

No nursing homes here
We dump our old in the sea
Communism rocks

And today's grand prize winner is lizardladyfla for this exposition of second childishness and mere oblivion:

How did we get here?
I really don't remember.
What year is it Dear?
