WARNING: READING THIS POST MAY CAUSE YOU TO HAVE A GREAT LOSS OF RESPECT FOR IT'S AUTHOR. READ ONLY IF THAT IS AN ACCEPTABLE RISK. AND IT'S NOT REALLY FUNNY IN ANY WAY EITHER... YOU HAVE BEEN ADVISED...

I know that, if I chose my words as careful as possible, I may bring about some thoughtful and civil conversation about the impending election, and prove myself to be, while unsure, at least funtionally inteligent.

More than likely, I'll end up angering many of my friends, bring a wicked backlash upon myself, and looking like a completly ignorant and delusionsal waste of flesh and carbon.

But, Damn the torpedos... here I go.

I'm voting for Yoda. Yes, the Green muppet from the Star Wars films. Not McCain, even though he has been refered to as "Yoda-esque in appearance." The actual fictional character of Yoda.

Every election, a piece of the voting electorate fire up their X-wings, and fly off to the polls to express both their disgust with both candidates, and their insatiable fan-boy frivolity.

I'm voting for the first reason alone.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that either candidate is a horrible man. I'm saying the prospect of either in the White House thoughouly scares me.

Let me explain, starting with a quote from September 15 of this year.... by me....

"Election '08: We can pray McCain brings back his old renegade ways and turns this nation around, or pray Obama truly is the second coming of Kennedy that will save us. We can fear McCain = 4 more years of Bush, and Obama = The untested student driver pulling onto the freeway. My guess --- We're hosed either way, so I may just vote for Yoda."

Let's start with McCain. As a good friend of mine (and Former-Republican) put it "The John McCain of 2008 is not in any way the John McCain we had in 2000." In other words, the John McCain that said "The Religious Right is the greatest threat to American Democracy" is not the one we have today. The McCain who actually worked across party lines, raising the ire of the GOP, and earning the title of "Maverick" is not the one we have today.

I could try to hope that all of this "W Luvin" and "Right Caterin" was just the means to get the nomination and the win... until the real McCain could come back out and play.... but, c'mon John... Caribou Barbie as a running mate...??? That's the final nail in the coffin. There is no hope left in my heart for you Johnny... sorry...

8 years as the whipping boy for the country's 1st mentally challenged president has officially stripped you of your "Maverick" status...

Don't get me wrong... Just because McCain is no longer an option, it doesn't fill me with "Hope For Change" either....

I don't doubt that Barrack Obama has the potential be a good president... I just firmly believe that it's not yet that time. I can't have faith that man with only half a term as a U.S. senator is ready to lead the entire nation, as well as have a massive influence throughout the entire free world.

I can't feel secure with this new dread, introduced to me by Obama's own running mate, promising:

"It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

This, from the party promising "Hope"??? We don't need another crisis... we don't need to "Gird our Loins" as the quote goes on to say... We need the core of what the Obama camp has been promising: Hope...

And right now... I don't see any... anywhere... Disgust for the potential downfalls of one candidate, or their political party, is not enough to sway my vote to the other.

So, regretfully... I'll cast my vote for Yoda...

And try to prepare for whatever awaits us next.

Bring on the firey backlash friends... I've got no will left to fight on this one...

-Kenny G.
