After a devastating earthquake hit Haiti in 2010, the world responded with an outpouring of donations, with the Red Cross leading the fundraising effort as they brought in nearly half a billion dollars. Although the Red Cross claimed they used the funds to provide housing to over 130,000 people, an investigative report from NPR and ProPublica found that they had built only six houses.
