You would think people would care.

So earlier today, former NFL star O.J. Simpson was granted parole after spending nine years in prison for armed robbery. He’ll now be eligible to be released starting this October.

This is probably the first time you’re hearing about the story, and that’s the problem.

No headlines, no TV reports, no tweets, no Facebook statuses. Nothing.

No headlines, no TV reports, no tweets, no Facebook statuses. Nothing.

Despite the numerous high-profile documentaries and films made about Simpson in recent years, it simply seems no one cares about him anymore, and it’s shocking.

Why, exactly, are we not talking about him? Did we stop caring after his murder acquittal in 1995? Have we moved on? Do we have better things to do with our lives now? Whatever the reasons are, our silence is unacceptable.

We need to talk about O.J.

And we need to start right now.
