One man's review of the best wines, livin' life one sip at a time!

What a lovely time I had at the Bi-Monthly East Hampton Sunday Wine Tasting this past weekend. I finally had the opportunity to get away and relax for the first time in what seems like forever. I left the dog and kids at home, set the DVR to record the LPGA tour, and my wife is still missing.

But enough about me. Let’s get to the reason you’re all here: To read my recapitulations of the eight best wines served at this week’s tasting!

First, the whites:

2012 Chardonnay
A misunderstanding of hazelnut with a powdered milk aftertaste.

1998 Australian Reisling
Old enough to vote, but didn’t

Sauv.jpg

2005 Sauvignon Blanc
Cured my night terrors, but gave me day screams.

2008 Pinot Grigio
Like a Spider-Man kiss from an older cousin.

Onto the reds!

2011 Merlot
Blood color, blood flavor, this is blood, isn’t it?

2015 Cabernet
PTSD never felt so good!

2010 Pinot Noir
Similar to an R-rated movie without any nudity.

2003 Malbec
Served hot, made with beans instead of grapes.

All in all a great day on the Island. I highly recommend attending the next tasting. Rumor has it Santana will be there handing out free wine keys and Jell-O shots.

Thanks for reading! And remember to live your life one sip at a time.
