Hold on to your hats – Justice Woman is back! After a long hiatus, our favorite web series returns with the fourth and final season. For all of you who are still unaware of this gem of a show, Justice Woman is going to melt your hearts and tickle your funny bone.
The show explores the truth about corruption in the legal system that helps out billionaire criminals by prosecuting the innocent.Created, directed, and produced by the star of the show, Vanessa Verduga, who pulls off a herculean task in showcasing the cruel reality of the system.Feeling like this is one more conspiracy theory? I will ask you to take a good look at the system that governs us and grab some popcorn – you’re in for a ride.
There have been three complete seasons spanning over a total of 15 episodes so far. The best way to describe the show would be, as Vanessa put sit, “an updated version of our beloved Batman and Robin TV series.” The show revolves around Sofia Escala (played by Vanessa Verduga) who is an Assistant District Attorney and her best friend Robert (Lee J. Kaplan) who is her colleague at the District Attorney’s Office. Sofia begins to suspect the Chief Assistant District Attorney of foul play when she discovers conflict ingevidence in the State v. Lopez case, which lands an innocent man in jail for a murder he did not commit. This is when Sofia and Robert decide to take matters into their own hands and make use of vigilante justice to expose the real perpetrators. The series snowballs from there into a delightful mix of humor and suspense as Sofia, a.k.a. Justice Woman, teams up with Robert, a.k.a Roberta, her cross-dressing sidekick.
Sofia and Robert conduct their investigations and find out that the corruption goes far deeper than they originally thought. By the end of the third season, Sofia’s secret about being Justice Woman and her vigilante investigations come close to being discovered and we are left in the lurch from there to wait for Season 4 – which is finally here!
The story is built quite expertly with sassy humor and lovable, dynamic characters. The humor sticks with the thrilling plot right to the very end.
