Morgan Freeman discharged from Tenn. hospital

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Morgan Freeman was discharged Thursday from a Tennessee hospital after the Oscar-winning actor was treated for broken bones and other injuries sustained in a weekend car crash in Mississippi.

Kathy Stringer, a spokeswoman for the Regional Medical Center, said Freeman was discharged but gave no other details.

The 71-year-old actor was hospitalized after the accident Sunday left him with a broken arm, broken elbow and shoulder damage.

Demaris Meyer, 48, of Memphis, a passenger in the car driven by Freeman, was also injured in the crash.

"Access Hollywood" reported Wednesday that Freeman's lawyer, Bill Luckett, said Freeman and his wife of 24 years, Myrna Colley-Lee, had been separated since December and are getting a divorce. Luckett was also quoted in several newspapers Thursday, but did not give further details.

There was no answer Thursday at phone numbers for Luckett or for Freeman's publicist, Donna Lee.

No divorce papers have been filed in Tallahatchie County where Freeman owns a home with Colley-Lee, according to Tallahatchie County Chancery Clerk Anita Mullen Gre

I like Morgan Freeman. From his 'Sesame Street' days to all his academy award nominated/winning acting nominations including 'Million Dollar Baby' and 'Unforgiven'. He is the class of all the older black actors (listen well, Sam K. Jackson)

So I hear yesterday he's in the hospital in serious condition- broken arm, etc. Didn't sound that serious to me. His spirits were 'high'.

How can you be in good spirits and serious condition? Sounds like the hospital has a unique condition system. If you can talk, you're 'good'. Coma and 'Pull the plug near death = serious'.

So it was a car accident on Sunday. Overturned his vehicle in Miss. No other vehicles involved. Whenever I hear that, it means 1) Drinking 2) drugs 3) blow jobs.

In this case, I think it's all three.

And. like Ted Kennedy, he has a woman in the car with him. Not his wife. You'd think just for insurance purposes he'd be more careful with another potential litigant in your passenger seat.

But ol' Morgie was tooling along the Bayou-- enjoying the sights. With a 48 yr old chick from Memphis.

Do you think after getting the call about the accident, Mrs. Freeman might have stepped up any divorce proceedings?
