Look how casual Leighton Meetser is about showing off her trendy tat. The wrist tattoo is for girls that may be hesitant about taking up a lot of space on their body but still want something that they can show off on a regular basis.

Bonus points for Lindsay Lohan’s “Breathe” tattoo for its vague meaning and subtle white script ink. Also kudos to Nicole Richie for her pseudo ironic wrist tattoo. Haha, “Virgin.”

Minimalist Hand and Finger Tattoo

For the love of God, I emphasize the word minimalist! You don’t want to look like a gang-banging meth dealer named “Pirate.” That means no color, and nothing on your knuckles.

Unless your tattoo is a cutesy heart like the one Miley Cyrus has above. This tattoo says: “I want a non-threatening way to show off my individuality but still fit in with everyone else.”

Clever notes like “Shhh” inked on your index finger like Lindsay Lohan and Lily Allen are totally unique ways to show people “Look at me— I have a tattoo and I’m witty!”

The Rosary Anklet

Just because you’re not a practicing Catholic doesn’t mean you can’t totally take advantage of some of the trendiness and/or irony of religious symbolism. Its like a better version of “Jesus is my Homeboy.” Funny right? Cuz you’re not religious. At least not after what happened on Sunset last night, lolz.

Rosaries are totally cute, just look at old school Madonna. I once had a Catholic woman scold me for wearing a rosary around my neck (it looked soooo cute with my boho outfit) and I told her “Hello, it’s Dolce & Gabbana.“ Nicole Richie’s tattoo is so hot, it makes her feet look really skinny. Perfect for sandal weather!
