First of all, can I just point out that there is a www.superbowl-commercials.org?

dot ORG?!

That means it has to be an organization right?!? Wowwwwww – what has this world come to when commercials for a four hour period can create an organization?

Of course it’s obvious to everyone that corporate sponsorship has taken over most of our mainstream lives. Unfortunately sports have taken the biggest hit of all:

  • We’ll never have true NCAA Football champions because of the ninja grip that corporate sponsors hold over the BCS.
  • Let’s be real, it’s only a matter of time until Tiger Woods wins the Papa John’s Masters tournament and puts on his green jacket with a giant Ford patch on the back.
  • And of course the emphasis on the COMMERCIALS of the Super Bowl

I concede there is no doubt that the best commercials are on during the Super Bowl – I don’t even ffwd through them on Tivo!

With that said, I’m going to hypocritically announce that Doritos officially won the unofficial competition in my mind for greatest Super Bowl advertiser of the game! Between the one where the guy is covered in Doritos at the gym and throws one like a ninja star at the guy’s throat, the “Keep your hands off my momma and keep your hands off my Doritos,” and the one where the guy’s casket is filled with Doritos, this yumba corn chip company takes my unofficial prize. Congratulations!
