You haven't seen one person die, but how many of them have you seen go broke because a catastrophic illness and no insurance?

By the way I have to operate tomorrow and have two patients who are having a thyroidectomy. It is interesting the one patient does not have insurance, and guess what I am still performing the surgery. I would be happy if the patient would merely bake me a cake in appreciation. That usually doesn't happen though because health care is a right that someone else other than ourselves are responsible for. So I am off to bed now.

Now on the other hand, if you think that health care is to expensive then that is another problem. I can tell you though if you do not have your health you have nothing! For me< I would be willing to spend whatever it takes. Lastly, because of out poor economy, real wages are down. If we real all making 20 to 30% more a year, maybe health care insurance would seem cheaper. Another way would be to lower taxes, the average American gives away half of his income in taxes. Yes, 50%. This includes telephone taxes, income taxes, property taxes, gas taxes, booze taxes and even cigarette taxes which are suppose to go to health care but doesn't. So screw you Will and this "Comedy Routine"

Of the uninsured 30% are illegals: this is not a problem of the insurance industry but represents are problem of how our country is going to deal with illegal immigration. 40% of the uninsured make $70,000 a year or more and choice not to get insurance, many of these are in the 20-30 year old range. I have a nephew who fits in this category. He would rather be making payments on his new 500 series BMW rather than buying health insurance. It ultimately comes down to about 10 million in the county who cannot get and afford health care; this is an easy problem to fix by extending our current programs at a fraction of the cost that Obama wants to spend in a complete overhaul.

The good news in our country if you have no money, you can go to any state office and get Medicaid. If you are illegal (excuse me undocumented) you merely have to go into any Emergency Room and you will receive care. People like to enter this debate without knowing the facts. For example, when one says that there are 41 million people without insurance, that means that there were 41 million people that went with insurance for 1 day in the past calender year, not that there are currently at any one time 41 million uninsured!

Been in health care 23 years and haven't seen 1 person die from curable disease particularly from lack of health insurance. By the way, 50,000 people die in cars every year and many are children. We should outlaw cars and save 50,000 lives particularly the children! Unfortunately, you show YOUR ignorance. I am the last one to love health insurance companies, but this promo only fans the flames and gets us no closer to a real solution and it ain't the public option. Go on Medicaid for one year and see how you like the public option. Further more, 80% of people want health care reform ( not the Public Option) as claimed in this Farce.
