Biography Born and raised in Kitchener Ontario, Andre Arruda moved to Toronto in 2001 to attend the Humber College’s Comedy writing and performance program. That same year he made his stand up début by winning the Caps Comedy Championship. He has continued doing stand up since, performing At Yuk Yuks locations all over Ontario and sharing the stage with Howie Mandel, Russell Peters, and Kids in the Halls Scott Thompson His comedy has been described as being filled with Lewis Black like rants blended with Bill Cosby like stories about his life and all the ‘Handicrap’ he deals with daily as a physically disabled, three and a half foot man living in a world of giants. Arruda has also performed Sketch comedy for almost ten years touring various schools all over southern Ontario and stages such as The Heart House, Tim Sims Play house, and Second City Toronto. He currently performs with a sketch duo 'The Chapuda Bros' And his 10 person sketch troupe 'Geronimo Deadly' who he performs with monthly at The Comedy Bar in "Geronimo Deadly Presents..." His television and film credits include, The Jon Dore Television Show, Kenny Vs Spenny, The Gemini Award winning Morgan Waters Show. Various Much Music Programs including Video On Trial. Was a series regular on the 3rd season of Out of Bounds With John Oakley. The short film, My Brother, My Keeper, which was awarded the winner of the Best Moc Doc Award at the 2006 World of Comedy Film Festival. The feature film Hank & Mike starring Kevin Kline and Joe Montegna. and he has appeared in the DVD An Evening with Kevin Smith 2 Evening Harder. No Stranger to the theatre. In 2006, Arruda stared in Piccasso Pro's Oops! At SummerWorks. Where The show won the Now Audience Choice Award. The same year Andre starred in Entertainment By Demands popular Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge by Christopher Durang, Portraying Ebenezer Scrooge not Tiny Tim. Andre H Arruda is very tired but will keep on going as long as he's fueled by laughter, respect, and money.
