Adam McKay is a writer and director who cofounded Funny Or Die and Gary Sanchez Productions along with Will Ferrell to pay off gambling debts. He was one of the founding members of the Upright Citizens Brigade and a member of Chicago's Improv Olympic. In 1995 he became a writer for SNL, and was head writer for three seasons (the best three). He left SNL in 2001 to cowrite and direct Anchorman with Will Ferrell. McKay went on to direct Anchorman 2, Talladega Nights, and The Other Guys.
